Did you know the human brain is 85% water and our blood consists of 80% water? This is why water is so important to good health. Water is a natural cleansing agent and it also supports the body’s natural detoxification system. Surprising enough, most Americans don’t drink enough water. We need to drink about 8 glasses of water a day. It has been noted that signs of dehydration could cause: fatigue, joint pain, mood swings and foggy memory in some people. Here is how to calculate how much water you should be drinking each day: divide weight in half equals total ounces per day. A 128-pound person needs to drink 64 ounces or eight 8-ounces of water each day.
Keep in mind that you can also get water from food. There are moisture-rich foods that can help boost your daily water intake.

grapefruit pineapple

Oh, remember the container you drink out of is important also. It is recommended to use glass, ceramic or stainless steel containers when possible. You should stay clear of styrofoam cups because they contain hazardous chemicals and are environmentally unfriendly. If using plastic containers they should be BPA-free.
